Scope:

In the last decade, there has been a large amount of research in Smart Electric Vehicles (SEVs), because of the most of the countries seek to address future energy requirements rapidly, trying to deploy electric vehicles, since they represent promising pathways to reduced toxic emissions. The integration of SEV nodes and Vehicular Ad-hoc NETwork (VANET) architecture may represent a promising approach for enabling more efficient control strategies, aiming at mobility optimization. Sensing and communication capabilities on board of SEVs, smart infrastructures with sensors, smart communications between infrastructure and vehicles may enable new opportunities for the enhancement of travel comfort and mobile services quality. The Smart Electric Vehicles and vaNET (SEVNET) 2016 workshop is mainly focused on recent progress and research from both industrial and academic sectors, addressing all the recent innovations, regarding the EVs, potential EV to infrastructure communications, optimization of transportation based on wireless sensors and mobile networks.

- IN-Vehicle Ethernet communications;
 
- VANETs for SEVs;
 
- Mobility prediction for future optimizations of SEV nodes.
